New ignite Board member Chris Hadfield is used to getting up at the crack of dawn to serve up our community our daily coffee fix, so how's he coping under lockdown without coffee ☕ ☕ ?
𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗰𝗼-𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗳? (𝗯𝘂𝗯𝗯𝗹𝗲) 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼-𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗳? My husband Paul and our 2 jack russells Maggie and Jessie🐕 🐕 . Owning Ritual Cafe we’re usually up early and we’ve tried to maintain this during level 4.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻? Paul and I usually spend time together 24/7 so no change there.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴? I have been so busy firstly closing up the cafe and distributing food and coffee to staff and friends and now getting ready to see what we can do under level 3. The dogs have now got used to daily walks and looked disappointed if we don’t take them out .
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 "𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗺"? ⏰ ⏰ Sleep in til 8.00am. Toast 🍞 and coffee ☕ and a walk. Then emails, touch base with staff and then work our way through Paul’s endless lists of things to accomplish. Lunch followed by reading and a nap.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝘁𝗶𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆? On most of our daily walks we head to a friend or regular customers place and say hi (from a distance) It is incredibly therapeutic to talk to others. Sitting here now I can only just believe 4 weeks is nearly gone. Old photos are sorted, the house is clean, the dogs 🐶 🐶 are exhausted and the cafe is ready to roll next week.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗼 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗢𝗩𝗜𝗗-𝟭𝟵?
☎️ Communicate. Every day we have spoken to, zoomed or called so many people
💬 Talk with staff. Keep them up to date with where they are at
👋 Keep in touch with customers. Tell them what is happening and promise them coffee soon ☕ ☕ .
