Held every two years, the Ignite Wanaka Business Awards provide an opportunity for businesses to celebrate their success, take stock of where they are and focus on the things they do well.

An independent judging panel, whittle the entries down to a shortlist of finalists,with the category and supreme winners announced at a black tie Gala Dinner held at an iconic Wanaka location on Friday 29 November 2019.

The 2019 Categories are:

  • Outstanding in Tourism supported by Lake Wanaka Tourism

  • Outstanding in Trade and Infrastructure

  • Outstanding in Professional Services supported by Westpac

  • Outstanding in Retail and Hospitality

  • Outstanding Startup (first year of business) supported by Air New Zealand

  • Outstanding in Innovation

  • Outstanding in Sustainability supported by Queenstown and Wanaka Airports

  • Outstanding Individual supported by Ray White

  • People's Choice Award supported by and voted for via the Wanaka App

What you need to know:

  • Entries close at 5pm on Monday 21 October, 2019.
  • Finalists will be announced at the Ignite Wanaka Chamber AGM on November 6.
  • The Awards gala dinner is on Friday, 29 November at a secret location.
  • Gala Dinner tickets on sale 25 September

There is no cost to enter the awards, which are open to all businesses in the Upper Clutha that have been trading for at least two years (aside from the Startup category which is for businesses in their first year in operation). All entries are completely confidential and only viewed by the independent judging panel.
